Italy, Jamaica, & AmaWaterways

Italy in The Off-Season

I sent clients to Italy this week and I am so excited for them! They are going in the off-season so while there are always tourists in Italy, they are not going to experience the crazy crowds (or crazy temperatures) that summer tourists experience. This is honestly one of my top recommendations for 2023 — for better deals and smaller crowds, travel in the shoulder season and off season.

In addition to being a boat/ship dork, i am also a TRAIN DORK. It was so fun to organize this rail holiday for my clients. If you need a rail holiday this year (or any year really), I’m your girl. I can do trains in Italy as well as France, Germany, and Switzerland…pretty much anywhere there’s a train.

Jamaican Me Crazy

Everyone wants to go to Montego Bay for spring break this year — sadly, the news coverage out of Mexico is driving people away from traditional Mexican vacation destinations. This is great for Jamaica but bad for tourists! There’s not much availability left and what’s left is super expensive. Seriously, consider booking ahead this year for 2024!! (And of course let me know how I can help.)

Why I Love AmaWaterways

AmaWaterways is seriously my favorite supplier for European river cruises. That’s why I’ve completed my AmaWaterways training and am now an AmaWaterways Specialist. Ama makes everything so seamless! They include all your excursions in the cost of your trip plus beer and wine at lunch and dinner. (Sparkling wine at breakfast!) You don’t have to worry about annoying upcharges for activities or food and beverage. Through March 31st, Ama is offering some great deals including complimentary land packages and cabin upgrades. Availability is definitely limited so let me know if I can run a quote for you. And stay tuned for my updates from the Danube next month! I’m doing a special private cruise with Ama from Vienna to Budapest with my host agency, Gifted Travel Network. Can’t wait!

What’s in Your Carry-on Bag?

A few quick suggestions for your 2023 travels:

  1. Buy Apple air tags so you can track your checked luggage! Super amazing technology.

  2. If you’re traveling internationally and will be hitting a few airports, consider a Priority Pass membership. This membership will get you access to airline lounges around the world.

  3. Packing cubes. Especially the ones that can vacuum pack your clothing. These keep your luggage organized and also save you space.

  4. Bring a charging block. This way, you can keep your phone charged during long travel days.

That’s it for this week! Definitely reach out if you have any questions or need any help planning your travels. The world is your oyster — and mine!
