Costa Rica is a great multipurpose destination: Family trips, girls’ trips, guys’ trips, multi-gen trips. If you’re looking for luxury travel in Costa Rica, there’s really something for everyone…jungles, beaches, ziplining, fishing, and more!
These days, everyone wants to go to Costa Rica but there just aren’t enough flights. This is a destination that you should really book at least six months out, especially if you want to fly into Liberia airport (LIR) in the north for Arenal and Guanacaste. The hotel prices might be fine. But the flight prices are going to be insane if you wait too long. Don’t let this happen to you!

Set on the secluded Playa Penca, the brand new and shiny Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique is 30 minutes from Liberia International Airport. The resort is within an hour of eco-adventure parks and wildlife tours, and three and a half hours from Arenal Volcano. Rooms feature ocean views and they offer kids and teen clubs. Enjoy this resort’s distinct culinary concepts, multi-level pool, spa, and fitness center. I am so intrigued by this property! It is a great option for luxury travel in Costa Rica. Note this resort is scheduled to open in March 2025.
