My Most Popular and Least Popular Travel Blogs in 2024

I love seeing what newsletters get the most opens and what newsletters don’t! Show me the data! My mailing list always surprises me. You can see last year’s round up of the most popular and least popular newsletters over here.

I spend a lot of time thinking about what destinations or travel topics to write about each week. Is there a destination or topic you’d like to see me write about in 2025? I love an assignment! Tell me over here.

Antidote Travel Newsletters You Loved…

  1. Back from Germany with Travel Advice & Black Friday Deals: Not sure if it was the fact that I had just come back from Germany or that I mentioned Black Friday Deals that got this so many opens. A word to the wise about Black Friday travel deals…they’re all sort of a scam. A few weeks before Black Friday, travel providers will pump up their prices. And then they will drop them for Black Friday. So…don’t get suckered it to those countdown clocks.

  2. The Dumbest Travel Mistakes I've Ever Made: I had fun writing this! And you loved reading it. Sometimes I am my own worst client.

  3. Spain & Portugal Travel Itinerary: Apparently, I should write about Spain and Portugal more often! Funny — I actually forgot to put in an engaging title and accidentally posted/published the placeholder title. This didn’t stop you from reading! Yey Spain and Portugal! I am excited to head to Seville and Granada in Spain in March.

  4. World Cup, Tour de France, Super Bowl, and Olympic Travel: These are the trips that everybody wants to take but somehow, we just never get around to doing them. Let me help you! I can hook you up with VIP access to tickets, accomodation, and cool invite-only parties and events.

  5. European Christmas Market Travel: Honestly, so beautiful and Christmas-y. If you’ve never experienced Salzburg at Christmas time, you really need to schedule this trip now. The Munich Christmas Market has already announced its start date for 2025: November 24.

  6. Trending: Tokyo, Seoul, and Halong Bay: My personal favorite places. Did you know that Japan has been so popular that many tour providers have been putting out “stop sale” notifications? They just can’t keep up. There’s a shortage of licensed guides! But if you are open to more of a DIY approach without seamless transfers, I can VIP you at hotels and advise on the rest.

  7. There’s a Cruise Out There for Everyone: More than one person has told me they don’t like cruising. That’s like saying you don’t like dessert. There are so many varieties of dessert! And cruises. A cruise doesn’t have to mean 4000 people on a ship. I’ve got every cruise under the sun. The cruise line you needed to book yesterday? EXPLORA. It’s a new line and so fantastic.

  8. How to Pull Off A Last Minute Trip to Italy or Greece This Summer: Probably the most popular request I get. So many people decide in April that they want to go to Italy or Greece in July. For the best pricing and availability, I recommend starting your trip planning at least six months in advance.

Antidote Travel Newsletters that Didn’t Get Much Love

These are my newsletters with the lowest open rates. But why though? I get asked these travel questions all the time!

  1. “Cool-cation” Summer Travel Ideas: I was really proud of this post! As temperatures heat up around the globe, I know travelers are looking for cooler weather. Here are some of the best spots to consider when you’re looking to beat the heat. This was my least read newsletter in 2024! Sad.

  2. Do you like the great outdoors? Open for inspo! Apparently my readers aren’t outdoorsy folks. Nobody wants to go hiking. I really liked this list of properties with lots of outdoorsy activities. These make great family vacations.

  3. All-Inclusive Caribbean Hotels Not in Mexico, Jamaica, or the Dominican Republic: I get this question a lot so I was surprised that so few people were interested in the newsletter.

  4. Where to Go in 2024. Sadly, no one wanted to know where to go in 2024. Head-scratcher!

  5. How to Island Hop in Greece This Summer: Another question I get a lot but…no one was interested in island hopping in Greece this summer. Weird because Greece is one of my best sellers. If you are open to going to the less touristy islands, I can put together an amazing trip to Greece for you for a much better price than itineraries that focus on Mykonos and Santorini.

  6. Let's Take a Mekong Luxury Cruise. You all are missing out! Vietnam and Cambodia are so amazing!! And a river cruise is a great way to do it. Honestly, Mekong River Cruises are amazing values too. The only challenge is getting there from the east coast. LONG flights.

  7. Why Panama is the Perfect Getaway for Your Crew: Do you want to feel like you’ve gone somewhere before anyone else? Then you should go to Panama. Costa Rica flights can get pricey, but Panama is always so affordable. I can do a multi-stop itinerary for a family of four in Panama for $10,000, easy. (Beach, jungle, and city!) Panama was on no one’s radar really until this election, but people still aren’t considering it as a vacation destination.

  8. Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo…Where to Stay and What to Do: Scandinavia…apparently these cities are not on anyone’s bucket list! I love all three. So design-focused. Such great food! Pricey, yes, but there are some tricks.

I’m looking forward to entertaining everyone even more in 2025. If there’s a travel topic you’d like me to write about, tell me over here.
